A series highlighting some small but awesome places. Because of listing guidelines I can't say too much but I am sure you will enjoy your visit.
A big thank you to Panther in the Den for starting this series.
"Mrs. B Loves Children" That's what a sign reads that has been there for what seems like eternity. You will always see children running up and down the wooden booth aisles, or up on the step stools near the "Kitchen Observatory".
I have fond memories of celebrating birthday parties or tipping a cold beverage after a Softball victory at this dark as a cave, hardly ever remodeled establishment.
They even will custom make your order into the shape of a heart on Valentines day or Mothers day.
The Parking lot's North and West sides are situated along the banks of the North Branch of the Chicago River providing a wonderful vantage point during the Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. During the summer months the trees and underbrush get thick but there are many places the river is in view.
This cache was also placed as part of the Honoring the Chicago River series. Once known for its pollution, the Chicago River has improved over the past 30 years, due in large part to the hard work of local residents. Today it is coming back to life, with an increasing amount of animals and native plants. In addition, the city plans to create a network of linked river walks to allow people to walk much of the length of the River. We hope you will stop to take a look at the Chicago River and to help out by performing CITO if necessary.
I hope you enjoy this local Hole in the Wall as much as I have!!!
