Geocache Description:

Cache is placed on the owner's property. Cachers are welcome here, but please be respectful.
Those who attended the "Getting Down To Business" event in April 2008 will recognize this cache---It was the prize won by Ele Phant, wife of the cache owner!

This is my first cache ever, so if there are any mistakes, please bear with me!
The house on this property was built in 1884 by Harrison Yost, Civil War veteran and constable. Harrison's son and grandchildren lived here. The house is haunted by his granddaughter, Ida Yost, who killed herself on the back porch.
On August 19, 1905, seventeen-year-old Ida sat on the porch and drank one ounce of carbolic acid. Her father found her as she was dying, and brought her inside, but it was too late and she passed away in twenty minutes.
Ida's mother had died four years previously, leaving Ida responsible for the younger children. Ida and her siblings were abused and neglected; her father was brought up on charges two weeks after her death. Why Ida chose that night to kill herself was a mystery.
Ida's story doesn't end there, however. She still haunts the house. The homeowners and their guests report doors opening and closing, items moving around for no reason, and the sound of footsteps in the upstairs hallway and the stairs. This especially happens at night and during thunderstorms. In front of several witnesses, the kitchen clock once flew off the wall and landed across the room.
Professional supernatural investigators have come to this home. The owners have a CD of Ida's voice making statements in response to questions asked by the investigators.
Ida is a friendly ghost, and simply wants to be noticed and accepted. The owners of the house are happy to have her there. As you find the cache, take a look at the windows of the house---You may see Ida watching you!

Ida and I both congratulate Sparkjumper for the FTF!
