Usually when geocaching, you get to see new and interesting places you probably would not have seen otherwise, and that is one of the great things about this hobby. But what if you are short of time when visiting a new town, and want to see the main tourist attractions and do some geocaching as well?
In Stockholm the On the Tourist Trail (OTTT) – series of caches could be the answer. These seven caches (plus one bonus mystery) are all hidden next to main tourist attractions, all on the Top-ten list of most visited places in town. The OTTT-caches are all traditionals, the stashes are 0,4 l ”Lock and Lock”-boxes with enough room for small trading items, and they should not be too hard to find.
The caches are: OTTT #1 – City Hall, OTTT #2 – Changing of the Guard, OTTT #3 – Sightseeing, OTTT #4 – Museum of Modern Art, OTTT #5 – Vasa, OTTT #6 – Skansen, OTTT #7 – Fjällgatan and the bonus mysteryOTTT #8 – Bulls Eye.
Skansen was founded in 1891, and it’s the worlds oldest open air museum. Here you can find some 150 cultural and historical buildings from all over Sweden. Skansen is also the place for traditional annual festivities, markets and folk dance displays. There is also a zoo featuring wild and domestic Nordic animals, and the “Skansen Aquarium” with fishes, snakes, monkeys etc from all around the world. The cache is located outside of Skansen, and can therefore be logged even when Skansen is closed.
