Geocache Description:

Cache on new section of trail overlooking what has been the Plainfield Optimist Athletic Fields. Use trailhead on Dan Jones Road, as the direct path will get your feet wet in the creek. Trail has been paved and now connects to Plainfield Parks to the west for a longer bike ride or hike.

This cache is in recognition of our daughter's first foray into organized sports. Last year Em was a proud member of the Green Dragons soccer team organized by the Optimist Club of Plainfield. She was ecstatic to get to wear the green #4 jersey, mostly because it was her age at the time. There aren't too many things cuter than a bunch of four year olds running around a soccer field in their little uniforms. When they aren't distracted by clouds, blades of grass, or picking dandelions (or noses, for that matter), it's a great victory and celebration when the ball actually gets kicked into the right goal.

We'd also like to recognize the Optimist Club of Plainfield who have maintained these fields for many years and coached so many teams. Their Youth Sports Programs have enriched the lives of so many children. A new field is being developed, so we're coming to the farewell season for this playing field as a commercial enterprise will be built soon, but it will be a nice to snapshot to remember this as where the Green Dragons and many other happy kids played.

Container is a large Lock 'N Lock with dragons and soccer memorabilia. A First to Find pin is in with the log.
