Geocache Description:

"I sometimes think that never blows so red
The Rose as where some buried Caesar bled;
That every Hyacinth the Garden wears
Dropt in its Lap from some once lovely Head."
- The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

In the whole wide world here's an oasis for the soul. You could pass within meters on the surrounding highways and never know this sanctuary exists. No matter what your mood when you enter, these amazing gardens will immerse you in awe and wonder.

The owners gave us permission to set this cache. It's available all year round outside the front gate, but the best time to hunt is April to mid October (Minter Garden hours) when the gates are open. FTF prize is a free pass to the gardens from Faye.

Garden thoughts that make you go "mmmmm" ...

"I am writing in the garden. To write as one should of a garden one must write not outside it or merely somewhere near it, but in the garden." - Frances Hodgson Burnett

"A garden is the best alternative therapy." - Germaine Greer

"All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into the soft earth. I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar." - Helen Hayes

"A weed is no more than a flower in disguise." - James Russell Lowell

"Gardening requires lots of water - most of it in the form of perspiration." - Lou Erickson

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." - Margaret Atwood

"To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves." - Mohandas K. Gandhi

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." - Marcel Proust

. . . . .

When searching for this cache there's no need to step off the road or go through the gate. Please use stealth and leave the vegetation undisturbed.
