Geocache Description:


The Comrades Marathon was founded in 1921 by Vic Clapham. The co-ordinates will lead you to a bust in front of the Comrades Marathon House, the headquarters of this epic foot race.


A museum is located on the ground floor, housing the official trophies, photographic and press releases and histories of the Comrades Marathon as well as a route model and audio visual presentation. The museum is only open at the following times: Monday - Fri, 8:30 - 13:00.

The micro cache is hidden inside the museum. The curator, Mr. Mike Bath, has given permission for the cache and might give a hint or two if you really get desperate.

.... Mike Bath is no longer the curator (retired last year). Instead, a young lady called Sharna (hope that's spelt correct) welcomed me. She knows about the cache and seemed much bemused as I hunted around for the cache... Enjoyed the museum and the warm reception I received...

One of the rooms is also used to treat members of the Green Number Club (10 medals or more - my number is 13016) during registration as a place to reminisce and meet up with old Comrades friends. Will you be in time to join the FTF club?
