Laurel Creek
This cache is located off the Laurel Creek Trail, which extends into an area that was once unavailable to the public. The cache is a medium-sized container located just off the creek-side trail. Please be sure to return the cache to the position in which you found it.
The area features a hardwood forest, a clear creek with rapids and a small waterfall, and a hillside covered with mountain laurel. The laurel-covered slope beside the creek can give this area the feel of a mountain setting, especially in early May when the blooms are often at their peak.

Access Points
The Laurel Creek Trail has two access points.
On weekends only, visitors can park at Murphey Candler Elementary School. From the school, take the bike path connector to the trailhead.
Parking is available any time at the DeKalb Firing Range on North Goddard Road. From the firing range, walk a short distance down North Goddard Road and turn right onto the bike path to the trailhead.
Visitors should stay on the trail until reaching the cache, which is about fifty feet off the trail.
The trail is marked with vertical white stripes on trail-side trees.
