This cache has been archived.

status quo: As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

Geocache Description:

Mutli cache associated with a local walkway, with reserve nearby and geothermal activity.

The final has been changed to a film canister inside a 'new container' after a second clean up removed the replacemnt cache and hide .... pls bring pen or pencil.

This reserve was once the practise grounds for the Whaka Rugby Club, the club rooms being at the west end. Near the cache (when you find it) you will see a large spring, locally known as the THC blow out! This "hot spring" formed after the drillers had a few problems servicing a bore for the THC Hotel. Today the hotel pumps water from the spring, you can hear the pump from the cache if you listen carefully.

At the above coodinates you'll find a clue on a metal tag to solve the first of three waypoints, that will take you to the final cache location:
1) S 38 09.XYZ E 176 15.XYZ
2) S 38 09.XYZ E 176 15.XYZ
3) S 38 09.XYZ E 176 15.XYZ
