Haslett Logic Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Allen Cachers: Our one-year Meridian Township Parks geocache permit has expired, so we have removed the cache container. Sorry that trail to this cache ended up being so wet. We are in the process of obtaining a permit for a new geocache in this park, which will be placed in a completely different area.

Thanks to everyone whom visited the cache. Sorry to anyone who solved the puzzle but did not get the opportunity to find the cache.

Happy Caching! -The Allen Cachers

Geocache Description:

This puzzle geocache is located somewhere in North Meridian Road Park.

This geocache is not at the posted coordinates, the posted coordinates are where we recommend that you park once you know where the actual cache is located. To find the real coordinates for the cache, you must solve the following logic puzzle.

Five girls (Holly, Violet, Hannah, Amy, and Emily) each with a different color backpack (red, green, blue, purple, and pink) went out geocaching separately. One found a micro cache, one a small cache, one a regular cache, one a large cache, and one a virtual cache. Each girl left something different in the cache they found (nothing, a signature item, a pathtag, a geocoin, and a travel bug). Match the girl to her backpack, the cache she found, and the item she left, using the following clues:

1) Nothing was left in the virtual cache.
2) Violet did not find the small cache.
3) The girl with the blue backpack left a signature item.
4) Hannah does not have a green, blue, or purple backpack, and she did not leave a travel bug.
5) The micro cache will not hold a travel bug, a geocoin, or a signature item.
6) Amy left the geocoin.
7) The girl with the green backpack found the small cache.
8) Holly has a pink backpack.
9) The girl who found the large cache left a travel bug.
10) Emily found the virtual cache.

The park is only open from dawn until dusk, so please respect that. The cache is not too far off of an unapved trail, so there is no need for extensive bushwhacking. It appears that one of the most direct trails to the cache has an area that is wet/muddy in the spring and after rain, but there are also at least two other entrances to the trails which lead to the cache that appear drier.

Congrats to SohWhardego and Sludge_Shoveler for their FTF!
