Cache is a tube about 5" long containing a log
Private automobile traffic is not normally allowed on the roads of False Cape State Park. However, during emergencies, when evacuation of the northern portions of North Carolina's Outer Banks is necessary, an evacuation route through the park is opened for use by the public. This cache is located close to that evacuation route. "Bushwhacking" is not necessary.
Access to False Cape State Park is obtained by hiking or bicycling through the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge or by boating across the Back Bay. Parking is available at the Back Bay National Widlife Refuge visitor center (3.3 miles from the entrance to the state park)or at the City of Virginia Beach's Little Island Park (5.1 miles from the entrance to False Cape State Park). Fees and access hours for these parking areas vary with the seasons
