Located on the way up to Cayambe Volcano. Spectacular experience. The cache is a small, plastic cylinder container with simple swag, a logbook and pen.
As you climb up to the refuge of Cayambe this cache is hidden in a rock outcropping just a short climb off the road. You will arrive at a level open space where you can easily pull off the road and park. Follow a wash where rain water runs down the hill. It is full of rocks. It is easier to walk on the mossy ground beside the wash. The wash leads up to a rock outcropping. The cache is inside a small alcove in the rocks. It is underneath some piled up rocks. The container is inside a zip lock bag. The parking area is at about 14,200 feet above sea level.
