Geocache Description:

An easy place to stop if you are heading West or travelling East from the Torbay area. If coming from Plymouth direction, you need to turn left off the main road at the top of Haldon Hill otherwise a small diversion is needed after passing the cache site. Getting back on the main road is easy whichever way you are going.

The cache is located in the village of Kennford which admittedly is about 1.5 miles from Junction 31, but the best place for the cache. Driving West, if you miss the first turning, don't despair and simply turn in at the petrol station.

At the location, you will find a petrol station plus shop, village stores with Post Office and a couple of 'watering holes' (in Kennford and Kenn) to help break your journey.

The best place to park is up the dead end road which is very wide and has little traffic. (Don't try and stop on the main road!!!!) You are looking for a weighbridge station. The cache is behind the fence seperating the weighbridge and the woods but much closer to the Southern end of the fence.

The fence has been built since the cache was first placed which made reaching it difficult, so we moved it 200 ft South of the original location to make it less of a challenge. It appears they cleared quite a lot of vegitation and cut off some smaller bushes and trees just above ground level, so please watch out for small tree stumps that will try and trip you up.

Tree coverage is quite dense which may upset your GPSr.

Please note, when in the woods, there is no fence or barrier between the woods and the main road, so children and dogs should not be left to wander.
