Geocache Description:

NOT IN MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK. 250 yards west of the park boundaries. Cache is a plastic lock and carry container. Log book, pen and a few swag items are included. You will need to climb for this cache, it is a definite 3.5 terrain, so be careful, be respectful of your surroundings and watch your step! Also, watch your kids; it is not a dangerous fall, just a little slippery. Park across the street where parking is ample.

The Grizwests think the Douglas Clan is pretty darn cool. The two dad’s get along, the two mom’s get along the siblings all get along… so why hide a cache in Ten Buck Two, 56 miles from where they live?

Well, we think that the Douglas Clan could be omnipresent. It never fails, the Grizwests travel towards the Washington Coast, and the Douglas Clan has grabbed caches along the route 10 days before we find them. The Grizwests head towards Parkland, the Douglas Clan have already logged the caches 15 days before we find them. The Douglas Clan even logged a cache that is exactly four doors away from our house three days before we logged it. I know what you are probably thinking, “Why blame the Douglas Clan because you are slow to the draw?” Well, why not?

Besides this is a cache that is right next to the entrance of one of North Americas most beautiful National Parks, and I checked, the Douglas Clan has not done much caching in this area, so this will force them to come up to one of my favorite backpacking and day hiking locations.

Watch yourselves with this cache, it is a steep climb, and though you are never in a dangerous area getting to the cache, it can be slippery. Watch your surroundings; there are ways up to the cache that will cause no damage to the surrounding landscape. During high traffic seasons this area will be crawling with people, so grab the cache with care. During the winter, it will more than likely be covered with snow!

And if you have time, there are plenty of fantastic caches around this area, or take a trip into a wonderland of nature through the giant wooden arches of Mount Rainier National Park!
