Park near the field gates nearby. Various ways into the area. A deep stream gulley to watch out for and it can be a bit squelchy if you don't watch out. Please replace the camouflage stone carefully afterwards.
A fascinating area with lots of rarer wild plants, primroses, bluebells, orchids, roe deer, etc.
A lime kiln is in the nearby field and this could have once been a siege mound relating to the Judge's Hill, a Justice Hill or Moot, which may have also been a motte at one time.
The detailed map shows a number of ancient ruins near a platform area next to the Hag Burn. A best guess is that this was forge or smithy which used the woods to make the necessary charcoal.
The Loudoun Lodge Country Club is nearby.
