Geocache Description:

A short hike from a nice turnout where a sign of geological significance stands.

Tried to make an Earthcache here about two years ago, but for some reason it didn't work out. So today while we were FTF on two new caches along Lake Abert, we decided to set a another new one also!

I loved Geology in college, and to have this amazing escarpment just miles from my home is a wonder and a joy. Abert Rim is one of the highest fault scarps in the United States rising 2500 feet above the valley floor. It is also the longest exposed fault scarp in North America.

It's colors, from the greens of spring and summer, to the white cloak of winter, along with the shades of morning and the golden rays of sunset, are inspiring.

Hope you enjoy this area also, and have fun finding the cache... it's a camouflaged plastic jar. You might also want to log the nearby benchmarks - can you find all three?
