W. E. Adams was one of the early settlers to Deadwood, but liked the idea of furnishing supplies to the miners and settlers. He bought this house in 1920, which was built in 1892 as the finest residence in all the Black Hills. When W. E. died in 1934, his wife locked the door and left the house with all of it's furnishings. When the Adams Museum acquired the property, restoration began and the house is once again in it's former splendor.
