Geocache Description:

High Coombe Stoop

This cache is located atop a wide ridge separating Wharfedale and Littondale. A small tarn marks this beautiful spot and is very tranquil with spectacular views of Buckden Pike & Great Whernside across Wharfedale and Pen-Y-Ghent & Fountains Fell across Littondale. It's a haven for birdlife so twitchers will be happy. The cache can be approached from Litton or Buckden via a well established track up to the summit then along the wall to the tarn. However, if you have the time and the energy I would recommend ascending to the summit via Arncliffe/Starbotton or Halton Gill/Yockenthwaite and then enjoying a longer ridge walk to the cache. As always, there's an awesome 'First to Find' medallion enclosed for one lucky cacher.

And there's more
.......

If you liked this cache there are many more 'Sykesfamily' caches in similar, awe inspiring locations scattered around the Yorkshire Dales National Park and surrounding valleys. So grab your walking boot, pack your sandwiches, leave your troubles behind and head for the hills .... Enjoy!!
