The North Carolina Civil War Trail is such a cool thing, and this cache is found at a trail marker noting an important point for the confederacy. Take a moment to read it when you stop. The cache you seek is a small tupperware container with the usual swag.
The railroad bridge you see from this spot was vital in transporting supplies brought into Wilmington by blockade runners to the front lines of the Civil War. It makes you appreciate just how difficult it is to run a war, sometimes!!
While in the area, take some time to visit TopoTraveller's beautiful cache, Bluff of the Falling Waters, just across the road. You'll be glad you did. She has kindly agreed to be our local co-cacher for this cache, by the way!! Shout out to TopoTraveller!!!!
