Curse of the First-To-Find Lynchburg #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Biology Prof: This is the third time the cache has come up missing. Must be too busy of an area. I will archive this one since the cache concept was obviously not a very good one.

Geocache Description:

This is a cursed cache for all First to Find’ers out there. If you are the FTF for a cache in this series, you are cursed to place another “The Curse of the FTF Lynchburg # __ cache and therefore extending the series.

The idea for this cache series was shamelessly and blatantly borrowed from the Fredricksburg geocachers. The series is now also active in Richmond, Manassas, and Nebraska.

Park in the parking lot at the Ed Page entrance to the Blackwater Creek Trail. Watch out for a large poison ivy vine near the cache(easy to avoid though).

HERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE SERIES:

1. If you are the First To Find this cache, you will be cursed if you choose not to place another new "Curse of the FTF" cache within 2 months, in order to extend the series. As the FTF, the choice is yours and yours alone!

2. If you choose to avoid the curse by placing the next cache in this series, the resulting cache must contain the words "Curse of the FTF Lynchburg #2" in it's title; subsequent cache titles should reflect the appropriate series number.

3. The new cache should be placed somewhere in the Lynchburg area.

4. You may choose any type of cache (i.e. Traditional, Puzzle, etc) and any type/size of container you desire.

5. You can only be the First To Find once in this series, in order to give other cachers an opportunity to score a FTF.

6. The nature of the curse is that if you fail to continue the series by posting a new "Curse of the FTF" within the allotted 2 months, you will be prevented from ever getting another FTF until the curse is lifted (Ha! Ha!)

7. You must include this set of guidelines in your listing for this series, and include the list of all who have been cursed before you. When the next FTFer logs their find, add their name to the list. Then when they put out their cache, you will place “curse lifted” and the date after their name.

8. After this cache is found for the first time, the curse does not apply to anyone else who finds it later (i.e. it reverts to a traditional cache like all others).

9. By way of clarification, there is no requirement besides the standard signing of the cache log to prevent you from logging this cache when found as an FTF. However, it is hoped that you will play along with the rules of the game so that other geocachers in the Lynchburg area can enjoy it. If you do not feel that you can place a quality cache in the Lynchburg area in the next two months, I would ask if you would please wait until someone else has signed the log as FTF before you find the cache.

THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN CURSED SO FAR:
