This is my first hide. I chose this location in the Andover Village Improvement Society (A.V.I.S.) Ann Rawlings Greene Reservation because there are no caches there, and because it is a nice reservation that is little known. Parking is along the side of Bannister Road. There is a trail that makes a loop around the reservation. A trail map is available on the A.V.I.S. website.
"The Ann Rawlins Greene Reservation features a high ridge that extends its length, a continuation of Indian Ridge, a glacial esker. It is forested with young oaks and other hardwoods. After the leaves have fallen the ridge offers views of the Shawsheen River."
It is a pleasant reservation for a hike. The trail is well maintained, and there is some wildlife, including birds and chipmunks. The ridge runs the length of the east side of the reservation, and there is a wet area in the center, with the trail around the circumference.
The container is a small, tupperware lock-and-lock. It is large enough for coins and small trade items. I have stocked it with some swag and a FTF prize of an unactivated FTF geocoin.
Please close the lid and lock it, and replace the cache in its hiding place. Also, don't park on Andover St. There is not really room on the side of the road to park. Park on Bannister Rd. on the grassy shoulder across from the houses. You can enter the woods here, or walk back toward Andover St. for the official trailhead.
Enjoy!
Congratulations to PRINC3SS on a quick First to Find!
