Located in Uxbridge, Ontario near the Quaker Meeting House.
The Society of Friends (Quakers) was founded by George Fox in England about 1650. The first Quakers to settle in Uxbridge arrived in 1805 and erected a log meeting house on the present site. The existing board and batten meeting house dates to 1820 and is the oldest building in Uxbridge Township. A concrete block foundation was installed in 1995. Originally the men of the congregation were separated from women and children by a centre partition. But the Uxbridge Quakers being more liberal than others, removed the partition in 1881 so that families could sit together. Regular weekly services were stopped in 1925 but an annual interdenominational service is conducted on the second Sunday in June at 2:30 p.m.
