Geocache Description:

Large Lock & Lock on S.W.Marine Trail near Cutthroat Creek.

Cutthroad Creek, a tributary of Musqueam Creek, begins in Pacific Spirit Park and flows south through the Musqueam Reserve and into the Fraser River estuary. These creeks are in the process of restoration by the Musqueam Band, and Coho and Chum salmon have returned to this creek in small amounts, with Cutthroat creek supporting a species of Cutthroat trout. The creek system is unique and has a high cultural and biological significance because it is the last salmon bearing urban stream in the Vancouver area.

The cache is close to the place where Cutthroat Creek passes under S.W. Marine—but it is not in the immediate vicinity of the creek itself. THERE IS NO NEED TO DISTURB THE CREEK or bushwhack in any way. The cache is a large Lock & Lock container—suitable for easy Travel Bug exchanges.

We suggest parking at N49 14.215 W123 12.216 for a nice walk along the trail, but it is quite easy to park along S.W. Marine Drive closer to the cache.
