Geocache Description:

D.D. Kennedy Environmental Area is a 106-acre preserve and is located between Amery and Balsam Lake along the Balsam Branch which flow through central Polk County. A prairie restoration area features native grasses, wildflowers, birds and is used as an outdoor classroom for schools. The park includes a dam and millpond. D.D. Kennedy also features: Fishing, (bridge and handicap accessible pier), Hiking Trails-Interpretive, Picnic Area W/Grills, Shelter W/Electric and Restrooms.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: http://www.wi-geocaching.com/hiding This is a multi cache at a beautiful park in Polk County, Northwest of Amery. There are paved paths all around the lake, but to get to the caches you will need to leave the trails slightly. Very easy walking for the most part. The first stage is a micro, the coordinates for the second location are written on a sheet inside the micro. Please be sure the micro is stable before leaving. The second cache is an ammo can filled with small kids toys, a log, pen, and a micro cache for someone else to hide.
