Not your average "key container under a park bench" micro...
This cache is located near the Fox river in the Gander Mountain Forest Preserve, in Lake Co. IL. ... There are several trails that lead to the final path to the cache... For the inexperienced cacher, some of these trails could be daunting... (The terrain rating could go up 1 star during heavy rain or snow)... The cache is placed in the actual flood plain of the monsoons of May/June 2008 where the the river backed up into the forest... "The 1st time in 500 years"... Or So They Say...
It's a well camo'd wide mouth mayo jar... You'll have a mild 300' bushwhack near the end...
Parking is very limited... Just a few vehicles at the trailhead, which is located on Wilmot Rd. at the west edge of the the preserve, just north of the Forest Preserve sign...
Parking may be non-existant in the winter...
{I'm updating the description(07/26/08)to reflect that Lake County only allows horses & mtn. bikes on a very small portion of these trails}... They wouldn't be much help anyhoo...
The FTF will get a 1$t to find Buck to help recover the cost of gas to make the find. Also contains an "UNACTIVATED" WWFMIII trackable coin for the FTF... ENJOY...
Congrat's to "Fishnic" for the FTF...
