Vail Rockslide Traditional Cache

A scenic 2.5 mile walk or bike-ride through some Weyerhaeuser lands near the Skookumchuck Reservoir and the Bald Hill area. (If you go as described.)
***WARNING***
Apparently, during the week, the gate to this area is open. But if you drive up to the cache, there's a chance you could get locked in. For this reason, I highly recommend hiking or bicycling in after parking at the coordinates below and when the gate is CLOSED. The sign on the gate reads:

Call the Recreational Access Hotline for dates and times when the tree farm is open for motorized access.
Non-motorized recreational access is allowed when GATES ARE CLOSED.
DO NOT ENTER AN OPEN GATE EXCEPT FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES.

There are multiple angles for approaching this cache, but we'd like to suggest taking your bicycles with you if you decide to go. It's a very pleasant ride on a very quiet paved road. (The horses and cows will stare at you -- but even they don't make any noise.) I'd suggest parking at the big yellow gate at the following coordinates:
N 46 deg 50.363'
W 122 deg 39.223'
The terrain is not challenging, but take some water with you. Also have a camera in hand, as an up-the-valley shot of Mt. Rainier eventually makes its presence known on the way to the cache. Have fun!
