Bald Eagles are doing well in Maryland and right here by Loch Raven. I was driving to work one Spring morning and saw a Bald Eagle (who I am calling Baldy) sitting in a tree at the posted coordinates. I went to the spot to place the cache and although it is a great spot for Baldy to go fishing, I didn’t find a very good spot for a cache. Therefore, I made this an offset cache.
When you get to the posted coordinates, break out your compass and go along a bearing of 240° for 295 feet to find the final cache location. If you use your GPSr make sure you set it for MAGNETIC North and not True North. Using True North will incorrectly place GZ by the waters edge.
The closest legal parking is N 39° 26.963, W 76° 33.106 and if you come by boat you can get within almost 100 feet of the cache.
