in our disclaimer.
This cache is near a USFS lookout tower near the Gearhart
Wilderness area. Roads are good for cars up to the Wilderness Trail
Parking area. There is a hike up a gental slope to the cache, which
is near the tower. If you decided to go all the way to the tower,
there will be a steeper slope to climb up (the view is worth
it!).
This cache was orignially pointed out to us by the Bly Ranger
Station Ranger, as a tower that they use every so often. The Ranger
said it would be a great area to place a cache. Take a picture of
yourself at the lookout location and post it online. To get to
cache start from Bly, Oregon head east on Hwy 140. In about 1 1/2
miles turn left on Campbell Rd. In a 1/4 mile turn right on USFS RD
34. Follow this road for approximately 17 miles to USFS RD 012.
Turn left on USFS RD 012 and follow until it ends at the Wilderness
Trail Parking area. Park and hike the road heading up to the
Lookout tower. BUSHWACKING is NOT necessary. Please respect the
area as you will be in the Gearhart Wilderness Area. FTF has a
ready to go geocache waiting for them. Please note that this route
will most likely blocked by snow in the winter months. Keep in mind
that this area can be a home to all kinds of critters and plants,
please take caution.
