Geocache Description:

Lake Batak is one of the many lakes in Bulgaria in the Rodopi mountains - only 140km from Sofia. The Lake is an excellent location for different sports activities - off road paths, bycicling, boat trips, pedalos, swimming or just spending quiet time and enjoying the beautiful scenary

The cache is located on an island in the lake. The island is visible from Tsigov Chark resort. Actually a man did live on that Island and you might see his huts. He went there every year for the summer. He passed away a couple of years ago and now only tourists go to visit the island.
Of course the island is public property so there are no restrictions to walk on it.
You obviously need to get a boat or a pedalo (vodno kolelo) to reach the island and find the cache. It is less than 1km journey. You can rent a boat or a pedalo from this place - N41 57.653 E24 08.961 or from this place - N41 57.510 E24 09.366. The first one is a small complex where you can also get help if you want to fish and you can also find small villas where you could sleep. The second place is a larger complex where you can find a brand new hotel.

The cache is a large, transparent rubber box. It will not be hard to find it once you reach the right place. Be careful since during the summer many tourists visit the island and you might need to use stealth.
When viewing the cache on Google maps it may show not in the island but in the water. This might be because the water level varies and the picture is rather old.
