A pleasant walk following the route of the Don towards Kemnay.
Credit for this cache goes to geoki who originally placed it. The cache was adopted and now cared for by georiachs.
Parking is available in Inverurie at the Davidson Park near the bridge at Port Elphinston.N57 16.435 W002 22.358
Follow the path along the river and under the bridge. When you get to the fence you can either cross over the stile and follow the river, or bear round to your left and follow the path up the hill and on to the track way.[I did get to the track by going through the field and then at the top right hand corner ducked under the fence and in, as Mr G would say, inappropriate caching wear. Yep sandals and floaty skirt! still managed with out getting stung.]
This cache has been placed on the old Inverurie to Kemnay stagecoach road. The tree lined avenue looks great at this time of the year and the closer you get to the cache the realisation that just up the hill where the traffic now thunders past, here the creak of wooden wheels and horse shoes scuffed would have been the norm.
Once you've got the cache, you can carry on up the old road for quite a while. There is a pleasant walk round the little wood as well.
