Welcome to the Doctor’s Exam series. Each cache in the series will
be a stand-alone cache. Doctor’s Exam will contain puzzle caches,
multi-caches, and even some traditional caches. Enjoy!
I'm not sure I really have to say this given where the posted cache
coordinates lead, but there may be someone out there who will try a
scuba dive. The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates!
Use the information in the story below to figure out some regular
old GPS coordinates: N _ _._ _._ _ _ and W _ _._ _._ _ _.
So, I'm waiting in the Optometrist's office waiting to be called
in. After a few minutes I hear my name and walk into the back room.
First he tells me to look at his pen with my left eye covered. It
wasn't easy. He kept moving it; down, left, UP, down again, RIGHT,
left, and right. Then I covered my right eye; up, down, right, LEFT
and DOWN, right; he stopped for a few seconds to give my eye a
breather, then right, up, down. The movements of his pen were
direct and to the point. It almost seemed as if he were trying to
tell me something.
In any case, the first exam was done and he scribbled some notes
into my file. I started exam number two. The doctor covered my left
eye. I said, "EFPTCZLPED", I think I'm doing great, but I look over
to my wife and see her shaking her head from left to right. A
little discouraged, I continue, "PECFO". The doctor stops me and
tells me to cover my right eye. I thought it was tough before but
now I am really struggling. I begin, "EEP", and the doc quickly
stops me. He tells me to start from the top, "DFP". My wife has a
bewildered look on her face. The doctor wrote down some notes and
told me not to worry and that I was doing fine.
Reassured, we continued to the final exam. For this exam I wore
goggles that covered one eye or the other. The doctor would
alternate lenses and ask me which made everything look clear, Lens
1 or Lens 2. At first, my right eye was covered. I said, "Lens 1,
Lens 1, Lens 2, Lens 1". He took down some notes and we continued,
"Lens 1 looks better". The doctor said, "Interesting," and he told
me to continue, "1,2,2,2,1". I felt as if my eyes had run a
marathon. Next he covered my left eye. I began, "1,1,1,1". Was he
just toying with me? I continued, "1,1,1,2,1,1,1". When will it all
end, I wondered? Finally I said, "Lens 1", and the madness was
over.
I asked the doc to give it to me straight. The verdict was, I
needed glasses. I Hopped over to the display and I picked a pair
that was listed for 337.90. Thankfully I had my insurance card
which took 33.3% off a pair of frames. The cashier rang me up and I
handed her two hundred twenty five dollars and 38 cents. She told
me they would be delivered to me in two weeks. "Delivered where," I
asked? She replied, "That part, you'll have to figure out yourself,
Dr. George Paul Schmidt has already given you all the information
you need".
