Geocache Description:


I call this cache Bear Tree because about a dozen years ago there was a sheepherder camping here. He was in his trailer when he heard something on the roof of it. A bear had climbed up the tree next to the trailer and was trying to get in through the roof vents. The sheepherder grab his gun and ran out and shot the bear. This story was told to us by the person the sheepherder was working for. The reason for Bear Tree is that you could see the claw marks of the bear in the tree for several year after. The tree has since died and fell to the ground. Much like the bear I guess. The cords may be off a couple of feet it was hard getting a good reading in the trees.
