VERY IMPORTANT (even more important that the 'Cache of the Week Award' UPDATE below):
I have been reminded by Geocaching HQ that you must sign the logbook before claiming a Found It.
So, sorry, but, in order for this cache not to be archived without further warning, I will have to delete any Found It logs where it is clear that the logbook has not been signed.
Please note this is an off-shore cache (8.5 miles north of Whistable).
So, if, unfortunately, a change in the weather stops you from disembarking to sign the logbook, unlike like the lesser requirement(s) for logging The Shivering Sands Fort cache (visit link) , Geocaching HQ has made it clear that I am not able to accept pictures of you, your GPSr, or of your geocaching name with the Fort's Landing Stage in the near background to claim a Found It.
I wish you the best of luck with being able to reach the landing stage, and hope that you still enjoy the trip even if you are unable to sign the logbook.
I placed this cache, my first, during a trip on the X-pilot boat to the off-shore Red Sands Fort to visit the Red Sands Radio 2008 station and GB0RSR Amateur Radio station.
This cache is a large water-tight container. It is located on the landing-stage platform. Please take a pen to sign the log book.
For Red Sands Radio 2008 information: search "RedSandOnline".
For the Amateur Radio Station information: search "GB0RSR".
For Red Sands Fort Restoration work information: search "Project Redsand".
Many thanks to Drsdoolittle for upgrading the cache container.
Congratulations to jimbo-ugk for being FTF.
Geocaching HQ has given this cache the Cache of the Week award.
I hope to add the certificate to the cache page soon.
