One of two caches in the fantastic Kentmere Valley. These may be done individually or as a pair producing a 4 mile walk on good paths.
Recommended parking may be found at NY 457019. Please do not park within the Factory grounds as we would not like to hear of Cachers having their vehicles clamped.
From the parking area cross the River Kent then follow the tarmac road South to Sawmill Cottage where you might just get a glimpse of yet another Peacock.(This is becoming a feature of our Caches).Follow a narrow pathway towards the river, cross a small bridge and then into a Bridleway. Turn NW at the next junction and start a gentle climb up towards Meadowplatts Plantation. Notice the disused cottage below the Pine Forest.Carry on for another 0.5miles before turning NNE at a gateway and ford. The cache containing log book, pen and a few bits and bobs is situated another 3/400 metres further on.
Enjoy the view before carrying on towards Kentmere Hall.
