Geocache Description:

Easy park and grab. No need to cross any fences, cache is not on Sculpture Hill property.

Frank Jensen's sculptures are created and displayed on Henry's Sculpture Hill near Augusta, Kansas. "The Hill" is Frank's private sculpture park of more than forty steel and metal sculptures, many of which are based on classic literature. Frank's work can been seen in many places in Kansas, especially in the Wichita and El Dorado areas.

The hill is closed to visitors for now "due to maintenance, insurance, old age, and attitude", but the sign out front says it will be open in 2010. I have seen this sign change the year every time the year posted rolls around, so I doubt it will ever be open to the public. Most of the sculptures can be easily seen from the road. I remember watching this place grow piece by piece. When sculptures first started popping up on the hill we could never wait to see what he would come up with next. I watched those pine trees grow from seedlings, always wondering why he planted them the way he did. Now I know it is Atlas with the world over his head, to be seen from the air. How cool is that?!
