Geocache Description:

This cache is an ammo box. There are many goodies in the cache. Very short walk off of the parking lot. Not sure if there is poison ivy or not. An incline to the hiding place. Watch for the stones as they move easily. Do not walk on the wall. This is on private property and I have permission to place the cache.

The Scottish Rite Cathedral construction started in 1928 and was dedicated in the spring of 1930 for a cost $450,000. Contrary to popular belief this building is not a church (although a church congregation does rent the building to hold worship services). It was designed as a meeting place for the Freemasons of the area. Today it is a place of meeting for The Scottish Rite Valley of Moline, several Masonic lodges, Order of the Eastern Star, Rainbow for Girls, Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, and it is also the home of The 32 degree Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc Valley of Moline.

The Center is open late afternoons through early evenings Monday through Thursday. Depending on the number of tutors and students, the Center may only be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After you have found this cache come in through the glass covered entrance on the East side of the building. Say hello to the friendly people at the Center. You can also pick up information about the Center and the services it provides to the Community.
