In former times rivers and brooks were used to float timber from the forests into the cities. Few brooks have enough water for this purpose, so dams (forming artificial reservoirs) had to be built. The timber was piled up in the river bed. When the waterstorages were drainded the timber was flushed downstream. The german word for such a dam-construction is „Klause“ (same origin as "close").
In the area of Klausen-Leopoldsdorf remnants of a widespread system of these drains can be found. 13 minor and 1 major drains worked together, floating timber as far as Baden. The system was in use until 1939.

This place is called the „Hauptbachklause“. At the site there is an information board telling a bit more about the history and the way it was operated. In 2006 and in 2018 the reservoir upstream had to be cleared from material, so the place looks relatively „fresh“ now.
In summer the place seems to be a bathing place appreciated by muggles, so please do not act too suspiciously.
The cache is a petling, containing one small logbook. There is no room for Travelbugs. Please hide it well again.

Im Sommer kann es dort recht vermuggelt sein, also nicht zu auffällig agieren.
