To make caching in this area worthwhile, sidekicks MAPS and I decided to place a second cache in the area.
This is a micro located near the local church. When Morrisvale was a boomtown in the 1920s and 30s, several stores and a barbershop were located near the cache. Now there are just empty lots and a bridge over the creek, Jack Smith Run which was named for our ancestor. You can also see three of the Coffindaffer crosses.
Bernard Coffindaffer raised approximately $3,000,000 planting the clusters of three Crosses in 29 states, District of Columbia, Zambia and The Philippines. Site owners donated the land's use for the Crosses and Coffindaffer paid all the bills. A total of 1864 clusters of crosses were erected. If you want more information on the crosses, you can find dozens of pages on google.
You may park in the church lot, but not beside the building. The cache is not there. I would advise not hunting on Sunday or on Wednesday evening.
