Geocache Description:

The cache is in the 127-ha Maitland Nature Reserve which provides protection to a fine stand of coastal forest, and bush consisting of, amongst others, yellowwood, milkwood and boer bean trees.
Among the animals you may see are the bushbuck, blue duiker and grey mongoose. The forest is also home to the Knysna lourie, paradise flycatcher and emerald-spotted wood dove.
Starting from the entrance gate, all three trails initially follow the old wagon road to the long abandoned lead mine at the top of the hill which is on private property outside the reserve.
The De Stades Trail follows the old wagon road and then branches off to the left, opposite the Igolomi Trail turnoff.(S33° 58.216 E25° 18.682) The clues are from this point onwards. The trail then runs along the ridge of a forested dune, from where there are expansive views of the Maitland River valley and the high sand dune at the river mouth. (7 km, 3 hours, circular) There is no entry free or permit required. The trail is well kept and there is also a picnic table a short distance from the enterance.

The co-ordinates of the cache are S33° 58.ABC and E25° 18.DEF where: (use the number on the clue corresponding to the letter at the 6 stages of the multi)
