Geocache Description:

I had to disable the original and moved it to this spot.

Another part of the history tour. Mitchel Field continued to grow after WW I and between 1929 and 1932 a major construction project took place. New barracks, officers club, as well as many airplane hangers (which many are still there) were constructed. It hosted the 1920 and 1925 National Air Races. It is a very intersting area and deserves some time for you to look around.
This is located in an area that is easy to reach for a quick grab! Please bring something to write with.
