The Dead Tree Cache Traditional Cache

The Dead Tree Cache is located at
the
top of Cranbrook Mountain. There is an incredible 360’
vista of the Cranbrook area from top. This is a tandem cache
with the L and S“HAGGIS WAY UP THE CREEK”.

We took the better part of the day to hike up the mountain from
the
parking lot from the South Star Trails. Our walk took us along
the
road, past the power lines, for some time until we came to a
landing. A well traveled trail goes up the hill from here until
it
accesses another road. Walk along the road for a while until
you
see a trail heading off to the right up another hill. From this
point you will be on a well traveled trail to the top of the
mountain. Also keep one eye on your GPS. A note: there may
be
another access route up the hill and if you should find one
please
mention it in your log. No we are not talking about ACME
helicopters.
Take lots of water and nibblies to keep you going and good luck
on
your trip up the mountain. More fun when caching with a group.
The small lock and lock container has pen, log book and a few small
pieces of swag.
