How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Located deep inside Frenchtown Park, this will be nice hike through reclaimed farmland. A bit rocky at times. Take coords. of your car! You may get lost!

The cache is a large decorated lock n lock container with a lot of toys for little geocachers. There is a FTF prize (a silver coin in a crystal) and I cast a no-lost charm on it meaning whenever you are carrying the crystal you will not get lost. Unfortunately, I got lost running back on the trails. It's weird how the trails can make you think you are going the absolute correct way until you find out you made a 25 minute unnecessary detour. This hike is not advisable for very very young children. You can do it with them, but be sure to bring water, trail mix and bucket full of patience!

I actually got lost a couple more times while running on these trails. I thought it was me, but some other cachers also, let's say, became "correct-direction challenged". So, be sure to waypoint your car before heading out for this one. (For a good laugh check out the picture gallery) Have fun.

The last hiking loop of this trail system is seldom used, therefore many branches are growing into the trail and it is very narrow is some spots. I strongly advise tick repellent and for all hikers/cachers to do tick checks after hiking in this area.
