Geocache Description:

Cache was set up in one of our favourite caching places with a container supplied to us by the namesake of the cache.

When we lived in PEI and were new to Geocaching we came to know an individual who went by the caching name Mingan Patch. It turned out our families had known each other for some time as our daughters were schoolmates, and it was them who discovered our commonality to this wacky pastime.

Mingan Patch soon came to be known for his craftsmanship in fabricating cache containers. He was gracious enough to usually supply a good hint, otherwise some of his containers would have been impossible to find. Shortly after we moved to Ottawa in 2007, Mingan Patch moved back to his hometown in the Minganie region of Quebec. The caching community of PEI rallied together to adopt as many Mingan Patch caches as they could, much as has been done here locally with binthair’s . If you are ever in PEI, make sure you seek out the caches that he left behind, they are some of the best you’ll find anywhere and in some spectacular settings.

The cache itself is set up along an excellent trail in the Greenbelt. The cache is located 40 meters from the trail and no heavy bushwhacking is required. The container is heavily camouflaged and may be difficult to spot. Please take care in replacing the container so that others may enjoy the hunt as well. Please be discreet in posting your photos so as not to give the hide away.

Good luck to all.
