Did you know that Downtown Winston-Salem has its own waterfall? It's not very impressive geologically but it's a pleasant spot to take a break for a few minutes or even a few hours. Since David's office moved downtown in April, this has become his favorite spot to go for a bit of fresh air. He will almost be able to see the cache location from his office once fall arrives.
You're looking for a magnetic nano. This cache could almost be a park and grab. Well, it would be if you could park here. Actually, you can park very near the cache but you can't get here from there so we don't recommend it. We tried to place this cache in an obvious spot where it's still hidden from muggles.
The cache is wheelchair accessible if you approach from the right direction. If you'd like to know the right approach, send us an email before your visit and we'll be glad to tell you.
We had excellent satellite reception when placing the cache with full signal strength on 10 satellites.
At times there will be many muggles in the vicinity but you should be able to retrieve the cache and sign the log unnoticed. Other times there will hardly be a soul in sight. If your timing is very good (or very bad depending on your point of view) you'll be able to listen to a concert while you search for the cache.
Cachers who work in Downtown Winston-Salem can easily find this cache on their lunch break. Others may find parking easier after 6:00pm during the week or on weekends but the park is closed from 10:30pm to dawn. Please don't search during those hours.
The cache is a black magnetic nano. It’s visible if you look from the correct direction. Please don’t disassemble or remove anything to look for the cache. It’s not necessary.
The waterfall is working again but the fountains are still dry. It's a great little park to visit.
