Welcome to the Country Roads of St. Charles County. There are so many neat areas worth pointing out that are somewhat historical, educational and scenic. This series will take you to some of these locations or close enough to be pointed out. Some just take you down some great roads that follow a creek or farm field. Not too many people get out to these parts of St. Charles County so we wanted to give you an opportunity to take a drive and see what this part of the county has to offer. A couple of caches will take you into Warren county just slightly.
Most of these caches are park and grabs but, please note that there are chiggers, ticks and poison ivy in various areas. Use caution retrieving the cache. Make sure you place everything back just as you found it so the next person can have as much fun hunting as you did.
Although almost all caches are placed along the SCC ROW (Saint Charles County - Right of Way) and none are placed on private property, please use caution when retrieving the caches as creeks will rise and roads could become impassible. Use common sense during high water and heavy rains. Make sure you watch for traffic. These are mostly dirt and gravel roads but you still have to watch for cars and trucks and farm equipment!
The cache is located along the scenic Femme Osage Ridge road. This follows Femme Osage creek and during the rainy season, is a favorite place to watch wildlife. This road has many scenic views of the creek and the limestone banks. We love this road and the creek. Have fun!
