During the 18th century the ironworks in Värmland were developed.Here at this historic place in Älga notched bar-iron for nail making was forged, also bolt iron for shipbuilding purposes and band iron were produced.
The ironworks stopped their production due to the hard competition with the engine iron production in 1879.
The nearby museum shows a detailed presentation of the historic factory.The museum is open from 1st of July to 24th of August,daily 14-17o'clock.
