10 Jahre nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer und der Öffnung des
Eisernen Vorhangs wurde 1999 ein Teil des Stacheldrahtverhaus
zwischen Österreich und der jetzigen Tschechischen Republik als
Mahnmal wieder aufgestellt.
Auf Schautafeln kann man sich über jenes Bauwerk, das Europa
jahrzehntelang in Ost und West trennte, informieren.
Man kann mit dem Auto bis auf ein paar Meter zum Mahnmal fahren,
eine echte Parkmöglichkeit ist aber nicht vorhanden. Nach ein paar
Gehminuten erreicht man es aber auch vom
österreichisch-tschechischen Grenzübergang Guglwald.
In 1999, ten years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the
lifting of the Iron Curtain, part of the former barbed wire border
between Austria and the Czech Republic was put up again to
commemorate this fortified borderline that divided Europe into East
and West for almost half a century.
There are display boards where you can read about this dark
chapter of European history.
You can almost drive up to the memorial, but there is no real
parking space. The memorial can also be reached in a few walking
minutes from the border crossing Guglwald.

byla znovu postavena cast steny z ostnateho dratu mezi Rakouskem a
Ceskou republikou slouzici nyni jako pamatnik.
Na informacnich tabulich se lze docist o historii pohranici a
hranice, ktera Evropu desitky let rozdelovala.
Temer k pamatniku je mozne dojet autem, ale radne parkoviste k
dispozici neni. Pamatnik je vzdaleny nekolik minut pesi chuze od
byvaleho hranicniho prechodu Guglwald – Predni Vyton.
