Geocache Description:

This is the first in my series of "A Bridge Too Far" Series. An interesting metal bridge just outside Huddersfield Town Centre. The original 35mm cache was replaced with a nano in March 2013. The cache is located close to the canal and does not involve getting wet.

This bridge dating from Huddersfield's Industrial Revolution is known as Turnbridge (Locomotive Bridge).

This unusual vertical lift bridge dates from 1865 when it replaced an earlier swing bridge. A combination of wheels, chains and counter-weights are used to lift the deck of the bridge out of the way of passing barges.

As part of modern progress this bridge is now electric!!!!!!!!!!
