Easy drive by cache placed at Royd Moor Enclosure, near Thurlstone
The enclosure, completed in 2005 offers extensive views of the Upper Don Valley & beyond. We stumbled on this location whilst cycling in the area & thought others might enjoy the spot too.
Please go inside the enclosure & examine the viewing platform plate. On a clear day it is supposed to be possible to see York Minster from here - it would be interesting to hear if anyone manages to do so.
The cache is micro container with log book only so please BYOP
The cache is NOT located in any walls & it is NOT necessary to climb over any walls to access the cache.
There is roadside parking at the cache location for 2-3 cars.
After your visit, you may wish to walk/drive round to Royd Moor Windmill farm to see (& hear) the windmills up close.
