This is a hide placed while my wife and I were on vacation in Maui (from Oregon – hence the name). Most of the non-trackables are from Oregon or Oregon themed (including the cammo paint job – meant to represent the western Oregon foliage), but it is not meant to be an Oregon theme, so trade away. We have a local cacher who will do some occasional maintenance and restocking in our absence.
This cache is easily accessed after a short 500 foot lawn walk from a parking lot. After the parking lot head straight to the ocean on the right side of the golf course along side a row of bushes. As you get to the end of the bushes you turn right and head towards and into the wooded area. The cache is hidden just inside the wooded area just off the greens. It should be fairly easy to see where to go in (*** It appears that there has been some brush piles added to the area that might be blocking the previously obvious path into the covered area. But the cords are spot on and others have found it, so look for the alternative route in). Once off the greens and into the woods there is a short walk to the cache; roughly 25 feet. No real brush whacking needed, but maybe some crouching to avoid overhanging branches. Once at the cache you will be well hidden from muggles. Please replace it so it is well hidden. The cords should be spot on (used the averaging feature on my 60CSx with over 300 averages).
***Please note that there is an ancient Hawaiian burial ground in the vicinity. You can clearly see the area as it is surrounded with a low rock wall and is well marked. You do not need to go into the area to gain access to the cache. Stay along the shrub line on the edge of the golf course and you will be clear of it.
