Ships, seabirds, tide pools, and a great perspective on Disappointment… the Cape that is. This hike will be between a half and one mile long depending on where you park. (OK it could be several miles if you decided to park in Astoria.) My personal recommendation would be the next left after the South Jetty turnoff. This offers winding trails and some variety over the basic beach hike. When I did this hike I actually parked at the Jetty lot and walked the road back out then hiked to the next turnoff and made the loop back on the beach and trails. This cache is a small container. This find may be tricky, but hopefully the Cape on the Opposite side of the River is the only Disappointment you see. You'll find it buried near the point of the driftwood.
